So here are some observations:
- I have never been so on top of what is happening in our government and world. I have an XM subscription, which I previously used solely for classical music. Now it's there to listen to BBC Worldnews and C-SPAN Radio. Both of which I have come to enjoy.
- I have found that when I do hear music (even that on the radio) , I have to stop and just listen. Its hard to explain, but it just sounds or feels fresh in my ears. All of the sounds seem more equal, and nothing is in the background.
- I have definitely started playing more piano. Its almost daily now I must sit down and play through at least one song. If I've heard no music at all during the day, there's almost an addictive quality, that I must play the piano before I can even sleep.
- Any song I do get to hear is stuck in my head for days. The strange thing, is that this is not annoying. Where I used to hate getting a melody in my head; now I love rolling it over and over and over.
I'm hoping to post my observations more frequently. I can still say, it is still very difficult to not listen to recorded music. However, in all honestly, the benefits I seem to be gaining at this point appear to validate my reasons for the initial experiment. More to come.
